Who is Biruni?
Ebu Reyhan El-Biruni
Pharmacologist, astronomer, biologist, geologist, sociologist, mathematician, linguist and philosopher, Abu Reyhan El-Biruni is a universal scientist who lived nearly a thousand years ago and transcended his age. Biruni is also a great physician. His work named “Kitab-ül saydala fi l-tıb”, which he wrote in the last period of his life is accepted as one of the most important Materia Medica of the Islamic Middle Ages.
His personality which devoted to scientific thought and his work devotedly in the adverse political conditions of his age made significant contributions to the world of science. The fact that he approached to the products of other civilizations with tolerance and respect is an important feature that makes him superior.
